Before there was a frontier saga, there was a dairy farm in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and a boy learning the value of early mornings and honest work.
Roots in the heartland
John Librande grew up on that farm, where the days were long and the lessons stuck. In 1976 his family moved to North Idaho, and he has called the region home ever since, raising a large family and running a small business in Hayden.
A story he carried for years
For a long time, the stories stayed where stories often do, in the back of a busy man’s mind. It was his wife, Barbara, who kept nudging him to write them down. He finally gave it a try, and the result was the first ride of the Robert “Rabbit” Gould Saga.
I hope you all enjoy reading my books as much as I do writing them.
Family on the page
Barbara did more than encourage. She joined John as co-author on several volumes, and together they have grown the saga book by book into thirteen novels of the American frontier. The farm taught patience and persistence, and both show in the work.
