Deserters

Four soldiers from Fort Sherman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, desert while on patrol in the Silver Valley and rob a train in Montana carrying the fort’s payroll. It is up to Rabbit and his men to capture or kill them and retrieve the payroll. In the meantime, Rabbit’s wife, Susan, is due to have their baby soon, and Judge Dodge gives Rabbit permission to hire another deputy marshal.
